Duhyoung Kim / Dudu

Media Artist,  Translator, Korean teacher
born in Gyeongju, South Korea and now based in Cologne.

Sounds come from sources, flow with materials, are reflected by surroundings and have different recipients.
In this process I sense those and feel responsible for their journey.

Since my early embarrassing work, Race, I try to find ways to be a good listener and work for it.
For me, being a good listener also means considering the political dimensions and questions of rights that emerge in sounds, in their movement, and in their effects.

I listen to noises, make noises, and share those with participants with diverse artistic forms.
Such as games, instructions, installations, workshops, or compositions.

Maintaining Table

This is a workshop about for 1 hours. Participants improvise their own noises, voices, recordings or silence and discuss about their combinations and structure. In that we try to think about “tables” which can be just a meeting point,  place we share, common, including surroundings.
